I love African inspired fashion whether it is in my turbans or clothing african prints just make me happy. There is something extremely glamorous about the patterns and colors of African fabrics. Unfortunately, there aren’t enough styles available in the stores so whenever I’m in the mood for something new I just make it myself! If you followed my coverage of Toronto Fashion Week you are no stranger to this fabric. I wore it in a short sleeves peplum top to the Duy Fall 2013 fashion show a few months ago. This time around I made a long mermaid skirt and I love it!
It was raining on and off on Day 1 of Black Fashion Week so for a more rain-friendly look I paired my custom-made printed skirt with a denim shirt and a pair of black booties.
This is what I wore:
AFRICAN PRINT TURBAN (my design) | DENIM SHIRT | AFRICAN PRINT MERMAID SKIRT (my design) | BLACK ANKLE LACED UP BOOTIES | MIU MIU BLACK BAG | GOLD ACCESSORIES
Enjoy!
