What a wise succession of words. “Sometimes it’s better to react with no reaction.”

We all have conflicts in life. And more often than not, we allow our emotions to dictate if and how we will resolve the issue. But unfortunately, charged emotions are not wise counselors. Think about situations where you either reacted badly to something someone did due to a misunderstanding or got really upset over an offense which you now know was not worth your time or energy.

Such is human nature.

We want to react to what others have done to us because our ego gets bruised. We say things like: “how dare he / she do this to me?” or “who do they think they are?” or “I’m not going to take this from him / her!” That’s our ego speaking. And if we listen to this highly volatile part of our beings, things can only go downhill from there. Take time to calm down and then address the problem.

Also, you must remember that some people will act in a certain way to elicit a reaction from you on purpose. Don’t allow them to manipulate you.

The next time you find yourself in a similar situation, take the time to assess whether your reaction will help make the situation better or worst. If the answer is the latter, choose to react with no reaction.
