DUY‘s Fall 2013 collection can be described in one simple word: drama!!! The new designer – well to Toronto Fashion Week at least, didn’t only bring in the drama through his designs but also by his choice of music, makeup and hair. “The hair was used to make her look very distant, very cold, and very elegant, like an Ice Queen.” said Duy during our one-on-one interview. The slicked back hair along with the sultry smoky eye put together with an impeccable collection made this show one of my favorites. I was so mesmerized by each of the looks going down the runway, that all I managed to tweet was: I WANT EVERYTHING!!! And judging by the social media sphere, I wasn’t the only one!

Duy’s collection had depth and breath. He mixed a lot of different textures: fur, leather, knits, metallic embroidery and played around with proportions and executed it all with a lot of finesse and appreciation for the female form. He showed deep plunging necklines, floor grazing gowns and architecturally pointed shoulder dresses.
Duy’s affection for the femme fatale attitude spoke to me! And all I have to respond is: I love you too!
