Could this be true? Yes. H&M made Global 100’s Sustainability list for 2014. But in case you didn’t know, it is not H&M’s first time on the list. In fact, this year is their fifth consecutive year of recognition. They hold the 64th place (up from 73 in 2013).
As you already know the Swedish company has made a lot of efforts to make its products and services eco-friendly with their conscious collections and recycling programs.
Determining which companies are sustainable and which ones are not is a challenging task. Global 100 uses 12 quantitative key performance indicators to make its assessment of each company. Included in the criteria are: energy consumption, water use, employee compensation, CEO to average worker pay and safety performance. [ALL INDICATORS]
Being on this list is an honor and testament to each organization’s commitment to being a responsible corporate citizen. I love that this list exists, only wish there were more fashion companies on it.
See who else made the cut. [GLOBAL 100 INDEX]
