Today’s repeat offender piece is a thrifted blazer in my favorite color: red. Red has been my favorite color for as long as I can remember. I don’t think I even had a pink phase as a little girl although I should probably fact check that with my mom. Bottom line, I love red and when I saw this blazer I couldn’t pass it up. I’ve worn it on multiple occasions and two of them were caught on camera. Here’s what I wore.
Birthday Look
I had a birthday photoshoot and was feeling All Red Everything. I wanted to wear my favorite color and create a monochromatic look with a personality. I styled my hair in a half updo for the first time and it was a lewk. That was my birthday vibe. I paired the red blazer with wide leg red pants that I hadn’t worn in forever, pointy-toe mules that I got in Europe and a red sweater I’ve owned for a long time. Truth be told, every piece in this look has been in my closet for years but I never wore them together like this until that day. This is why I always say: “before buying anything new, shop your closet and awaken your inner stylist!” Simple Tips for Sustainability You Can Start Right Now | Well + Good
SXSW in Austin
I had the opportunity to go to SXSW as a speaker with Mercedes Benz’ EQ and while I was there I connected with a great photographer who took me around for a shoot. We shot this look in the Austin Central Library which was named 2020 AIA Committee on the Environment (COTE) Top Ten Awards winner and awarded LEED Platinum status (green building rating). It is the first building in the City of Austin to achieve this status.
For this look, I paired the red blazer with a crochet front and back v-neck sweater, ABLE ripped jeans, Rebecca Minkoff sandals that a friend gifted me, Ozeano sunglasses and thrifted patent leather bucket bag.
