World Master Card Fashion Week has officially begun. Celebrities such as Coco Rocha and Stacey Mackenzie, fashion editors, stylists and addicts alike converged to David Pecaut Square to see the creations of five designers.  Here is my show by show rundown for day one.
THE DESIGNERS: Mikhael Kale, Vawk, Beaufille, Line Knitwear and Sid Neigum.
1. MIKHAEL KALEÂ
The Mikhael Kale runway show was a definite crowd pleaser. The talented designer presented a collection of dresses and separates. Each piece was intricate in details and bold in prints. I loved his respect for the female form and sensible craftsmanship.
2. VAWK
Vawk is best known for creating ready-to-wear clothing with modern and feminine touches. For Fall / Winter 2014, the designer favored black in his color palette but played around with it by introducing different fabric finishes and textures. In short, ‘black is the new black.’
3. BEAUFILLE
Faithful to their ‘boy meets girl’ style Beaufille created a collection worthy of the old school hip hop soundtrack the models were stomping to. They showcased treated leathers, prints and felt. A rather dark color palette was accented by their signature metal hardware which they used on skinny pants, coats and snapbacks.
4. LINE KNITWEAR
Line Knitwear was one of my favorite shows of the night.  They presented a collection of timeless angora and wool knits in modern silhouettes and bold colors: cobalt blue, ivory, fuchsia, mint, bordeaux, gray and soft pink. They also featured a magenta ombre print that was to die for. They paired the knit separates with leather and burnout pieces. I would wear every single look.
5. SID NEIGUM
Sid Neigum’s collection was part construction and part deconstruction. The young designer created pieces that went beyond the realm of clothing and into the sculptural world. Each garment had a different shape and gave the models a larger-than-life presence.
